What can I expect in the first session?

Your first session is simply about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s on your mind lately, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you might have. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance — just come as you are. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood.

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?

The therapeutic relationship is a big part of what makes therapy work. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can connect, talk briefly about what you’re looking for, and see if it feels like a good match. If I’m not the right fit, I have a wonderful network of colleagues and I’m happy to help you find someone who can support you best.

I've never done therapy before. Is that okay?

Absolutely. I’ll help you get started. All you have to do is be curious and willing to show up. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll go from there.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Nashville and secure telehealth sessions for clients across Tennessee. You’re welcome to choose what feels best for you, or switch it up as needed.

What are your rates?

My session rates range from $125 to $200, depending on the day, time (weekend or later evening hours), and whether we are meeting individually, as a couple, or as a group. I also reserve a limited number of sliding-scale spots, as I believe therapy should be accessible. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m happy to discuss options.

Do you take insurance?

I am not in-network with insurance providers. However, I can provide a superbill if you’d like to submit claims for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I also offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots to help keep care accessible.

How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we can always adjust based on your needs, schedule, and goals. Consistency helps the work go deeper, but there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Over time, some clients move to monthly maintenance sessions or occasional check-ins. We’ll collaborate on a rhythm that feels supportive and sustainable for you.

What kinds of therapy do you use?

My approach is intuitive, relational, and emotionally attuned. I draw from evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, CBT, ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method for couples. I tailor our work uniquely to you using an eclectic approach known as Common Factors.

What if my partner is hesitant about couples therapy?

That’s completely understandable — it’s common for one partner to feel more ready than the other. If your partner has concerns, I’m happy to answer questions or clarify what to expect. If they’re open to just one session, that can be a good starting point. We’ll take it from there, gently and collaboratively.

What are your hours?

I currently see clients Tuesday through Sunday, with availability between 10am and 8pm. I’m happy to offer both weekend and evening sessions to help therapy fit into your life. If you’re curious about scheduling, reach out and I’ll do my best to find a time that works for you.

Where are you located?

I see clients in person at Nashville Therapy Group’s East Nashville office (806 Meridian St), and I also offer secure telehealth sessions for clients across Tennessee. You’re welcome to choose the location and format that feels best for you.
